Hoyer Statement on Signing of Export-Import Bank Reauthorization

WASHINGTON, DC – House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement after President Obama signed into law the bipartisan bill to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank:
“I was honored to join the President today as he signed into law a bipartisan reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank. Democrats unanimously supported this bill in the House, and it is an important part of House Democrats’ Make It In America plan for job creation and long-term economic competitiveness.
“The Export-Import Bank was responsible last year for over $41 billion in export sales and the creation of nearly 300,000 jobs, and the signing of this legislation will enable it to expand its financing and contribute to further growth in exports and jobs. In particular, this is a victory for American manufacturing. House Democrats will continue efforts to boost our manufacturing sector by working toward the passage of other Make It In America legislation that will help our businesses create well paying jobs that can sustain the growth of a strong middle class today and for the next generation.”
