Flag Officer Assignments


The Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan W. Greenert announced today the following assignments:
Capt. Brian B. Brown, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command, Stennis Space Center, Miss. Brown is currently serving as executive assistant to the director, Oceanography, Space, and Maritime Domain Awareness, N2/N6E, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.
Capt. John F. Kirby, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as chief of information, Washington, D.C. Kirby is currently serving as deputy assistant secretary of defense for media operations, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Washington, D.C.
