"I’m a young woman who just graduated from college. My dad is a naturalized citizen from a developing country who got student visas and college/graduate degrees here; he now makes vaccines for kids. My mom was able to get social services like Pell Grants, government-backed loans, and public university funding, and is now one of the more prominent women (and people!) in her field. My brother is going to enter college in the fall.

"Had the 2012 Republican candidates seen my parents when they most needed government services, they would have dismissed them as a poor girl and an immigrant. Barack Obama is the only candidate—and Democrats are the only party—whose policies demonstrate that they have my family’s best interests at heart. That’s why I’ll give money and canvass and vote for him on November 6th."
