Flag Officer Announcements


The Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Johnathan Greenert announced today the following assignments:
Rear Adm. William A. Brown will be assigned as director, strategic, policy, programs, and logistics, J4/5, U.S. Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. Brown is currently serving as director, logistics and security assistance, J4, U.S. European Command, Vaihingen, Germany.
Rear Adm. (lower half) Bryan P. Cutchen, who has been selected for promotion to rear admiral, will be assigned as commander, Navy Reserve Forces Command, Norfolk, Va. Cutchen is currently serving as deputy chief of Navy reserve, N095, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.
Rear Adm. (lower half) Sandy L. Daniels, who has been selected for promotion to rear admiral, will be assigned as commander, space and naval warfare systems command space field activity, Washington, D.C. Daniels previously served as deputy commander, joint functional component command for space, U.S. Strategic Command, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.
Rear Adm. (lower half) Peter J. Fanta will be assigned as deputy director for resources and acquisition, J8, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C. Fanta is currently serving as commander, expeditionary strike group five/commander, Task Force 51/59, Manama, Bahrain.
Rear Adm. (lower half) James G. Foggo III., who has been selected for promotion to rear admiral, will be assigned as director, assessment division, N81, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C. Foggo is currently serving as director, plans and operations, U.S. Naval Forces Europe – Sixth Fleet/deputy commander, Sixth Fleet/Commander, Submarines Allied Naval Forces South/commander, Submarine Group Eight, Naples, Italy.
Rear Adm. (lower half) William K. Lescher will be assigned as commander, expeditionary strike group five/commander, Task Force 51/59, Manama, Bahrain. Lescher is currently serving as deputy director for resources and acquisition, J8, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.
Rear Adm. Robert L. Thomas Jr., will be assigned as chief of staff, J5, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C. Thomas is currently serving as vice director for operations, J3, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.
Rear Adm. (lower half) Jonathan W. White, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral, will be assigned as director, oceanography, space and maritime domain awareness division, N2/N6E, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations/Oceanographer of the Navy, Washington, D.C. White is currently serving as commander, naval meteorology and oceanography command, Stennis Space Center, Miss.
