Senate blocks funding for Export-Import bank

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The Senate on Tuesday voted to block an amendment from consideration that would have re-authorized the Export-Import Bank. The Export Import bank provides loan guarantees for foreign purchases of American exports. The vote was 55 to 44, with three Republicans, Sens. Scott Brown, Susan Collins and Dean Heller, voting for the provision. It did not receive the 60 votes needed to proceed.
