When Rush Limbaugh lashed out with a despicable tirade at Georgetown law student and women’s health care advocate Sandra Fluke, you fought back in record-breaking numbers.

Over 300,000 supporters rushed to Sandra’s defense and demanded Republican leaders denounce Rush. In total, over 800,000 of you have added your name to fight the Republican War on Women. We’re thrilled to say that your pressure forced Rush to apologize to Sandra Fluke this weekend.

Don’t get me wrong: even in his apology, Rush managed to push more insulting right-wing talking points about denying women access to critical health care. This fight is not over.

Nonetheless, you forced Rush to back down -- something we never imagined would happen just a few days ago.

But one thing is perfectly clear: the Republican Party has declared an all-out war on women and they must be stopped this November. Spineless Republican leaders like Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Speaker John Boehner, and Leader Eric Cantor couldn’t even give a condemnation of Limbaugh’s despicable comments until Rush himself apologized. We are still collecting signatures on our petition to the Republican House leadership who has not denounced Rush’s disgraceful actions.
