WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - President Barack Obama on Thursday released research that showed that U.S. dependence on foreign oil has gone down every year since he took office. In a speech at Nashua Community College in Nashua, New Hampshire, Obama said that dependence on foreign oil fell below 50% of the oil consumed in 2010 for the first time in thirteen years. And the positive trend continued in 2011. Obama called on Congress to eliminate subsidies to the oil industry. "I want them to vote on this in the next few weeks, so we can put every single member [of Congress] on record," he said.
