WASHINGTON (CNN) — Two Democratic sources told CNN Thursday that
congressional Democratic leaders have agreed to require the Big Three auto
companies to show them how they would spend the $25 billion they are requesting
from Congress. These sources say if General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler
LLC come up with that plan, Congress is likely to return in the next few weeks
to consider it.

The sources said the agreement was reached in a closed meeting of House
and Senate Democratic leaders in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office.

Details were to be announced in a news conference at 2 p.m.
