Congressmen demand explanation on torture, pardons

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Two key House Democrats Thursday demanded in a letter to Attorney General Michael Mukasey that he explain by next week why he believes all U.S. counterterrorism officials believed they were acting lawfully in establishing and implementing policies on detainee interrogations and terrorist surveillance.
