America's Faith in Vote Counting Crashes« Thread Started on Aug 28, 2007, 12:19am » --------------------------------------------------------------------------------America's Faith in Vote Counting Crashesby Project Vote Page 1 of 2 page(s) http://www.opednews.comread at source> http://www.opednews.com/articles/opedne ... _v.htmMore than half of California voters are not fully confident that their votes are accurately counted, prompting the assessment of a “huge change in the country's attitude,” according to John Wildermuth of the San Francisco Chronicle, Thursday. The recent Field Poll findings from the country's most populous state are a clarion call for voting rights advocates to press election officials to be more transparent about the election process and in addressing the system's flaws.Lack of confidence in the vote count is split evenly between paper ballots and touch screen voting machines, however, those with most concern about election integrity are more skeptical about electronic systems. One out of every seven “likely voters” who vote every election and pay attention to politics do not believe their votes are being counted.
