The Democrats said that if elected to government, they would ensure Thailand was equipped to compete with the rest of the world. ''We cannot blame [problems in Thailand] on globalisation. The changing world creates opportunities ... which Thais and people around the world have never seen before,'' Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said as he wrapped up the party's annual conference.
