Last week, USA Todayreported American taxpayers are "now on the hook for a record $59.1 trillion in liabilities ... equal to $516,348 for every U.S. household." Whoa.Let's repeat that: $516,348, or a bit more than a half-million dollars per family. Put another away, paying off the national debt would require the average family to chip in $31,000 per year for the next 75 years.
