Kerry apologizes for Iraq ' joke' « Thread Started on Nov 2, 2006, 3:00am » --------------------------------------------------------------------------------..but theres a heck of alot of poor and other less educated people who are being recruited and sent off to fight in iraq people should address that as welland kerry was probably directing attention at george bush saying a more studied and educated president wouldnt have recklessly gotten america stuck in a chaotic place in the middle east and look at the soldiers there as human beings and not just a set of 'boots'this guy is fighting for our troops to get them out from being sitting ducks and setting up a new dynamic where iraq can be helped and security ensured through a new international process that would obviously mandate military troops but america wont be running from anything obviously theyre gonna have to be involved militarily for a long time but its gonna be essential that they make a symbolic move that Bush did make a big mistake to dignify the civilian population of iraq, maybe focus on securing administrative areas then counsel with the rest of the world on how to rebuild and police other areas of iraq which will involve a large international military force to stabilize things but this wont be possible until Bush decides to withdraw occupation forces in some symbolic gesture
