WASHINGTON, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- U.S. President George Bush said Wednesday people must be held to account for their decisions, be they politicians, corporate execs or ordinary citizens. Asked at a White House news conference about mounting investigations of various Republicans and their efforts to push blame elsewhere, Bush said, "If any person of any party fails to live up to high standards they should be held to account. ... "People have to trust elected leaders for democracy to work to its full extent." Bush said high standards need to be applied to all walks of life.
