Early Voting Wins Elections« Thread Started on Oct 28, 2004, 3:41pm » --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Early Voting Wins Elections"In Iowa in 2000, early voting paid off for Democratic candidate Al Gore. While Republican candidate George W. Bush received more votes on the day of the election, Gore earned more in early voting and won Iowa by just over 4,000 votes."Associated Press, 9/24/2004DNC Early Vote Hotline: 866-DNC-VOTEEven with the best of intentions, some voters can't make it to the polls on Election Day. But that doesn't mean you can't vote. Many states have set up programs that allow people to vote prior to November 2. Whether by casting an absentee ballot or voting in person, voting early allows you to make certain your voice will be heard, even if you are too busy to get to the polls on Election Day.Remember, November 2 is the last day to vote -- not the first! The map below outlines the voting deadlines for each state. Click on your state to register to vote, request an absentee ballot, or contact your local elections office to learn the rules for voting early.go here for the map and more info> http://www.democrats.org/evc/index.html
