Don't Be Silenced! Break the Code« Thread Started on Jul 21, 2004, 11:18pm » --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Don't Be Silenced! Break the CodeIn 2000, only 100 million of the 175 million people eligible to vote actually cast a ballot. A goal of the Voting Rights Institute is to increase voter participation -- thereby giving a larger share of Americans a say in the policies that affect each of us everyday. Freedom comes through choice and a vote represents a choice. As Democrats, we want to expand that choice to include as many eligible voters as possible. When more people vote Democrats and Democracy win.Under the guise of "Ballot Security" and "Ballot Integrity," our opponents push severe voter registration initiatives that limit eligible voters. They advocate restrictive voter ID requirements and support harsh purge programs that shrink the total number of eligible voters. They do all of this to suppress and intimidate voters so that their voices cannot be heard. As we approach this very important election don't be silenced by voter intimidation and suppression tactics masked as ballot integrity and ballot security measures. Our opponents don't want you to vote because if you do -- you won't vote for their failed policies. On November 2, 2004, don't be silenced -- Break the Code!
