Diebold Voting computers owned by CIA & Bush croni« Thread Started on Jun 20, 2004, 6:42pm »--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Subject: Diebold Voting computers owned by CIA & Bush cronies View: Complete Thread (15 articles) Original Format Newsgroups: alt.terrorism.world-trade-center, soc.culture.israel, sci.astro.amateur, alt.mindcontrol, alt.politicsDate: 2004-05-26 16:52:34 PST http://www.agitprop.org.au/nowar/200402 ... g.phpThree corporations own the hardware and software used to count about80 percent of the votes cast electronically in the US. A striking fact about the boards of these companies is the presence offormer CIA directors, including James Woolsey, Bobby Ray Inman, JohnDeutch, and Gates and Carlucci. When has the CIA been pro-democracy?Why this keen interest in voting technology? Who monitors these private companies? When asked questions they cite"security and competition" as reasons why they can't divulge everyaspect of their vote-counting procedures. Critics say that voting machines must not be privatised. Those whowould profit from skewing elections against the working class shouldnot own the machines. The voting apparatus should be publicly ownedand operated. There should be no "trade secrets" to ensure that avoting machine company won't have to tell how the machines operate. The critical issue is to keep the vote directly in the hands of thevoters. The election laws in some countries require that as manyordinary people as possible be permitted into the room where the votesare tallied. The US right wing, frightened as usual into skullduggery and violenceby any whiff of democracy, knows well that it can't win if it does notcheat.
