Deputy Secretary of State Thomas R. Nides and Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Neal S. Wolin Travel to Israel, West Bank, and Tunisia

Deputy Secretary of State Thomas R. Nides and Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Neal S. Wolin will travel to Israel, the West Bank and Tunisia on January 23-25 to underscore the commitment of the United States to economic engagement and assistance as part of its diplomatic efforts in the region.
On Monday, January 23 and Tuesday, January 24, Deputy Secretary Wolin and Deputy Secretary Nides will meet with senior government officials and members of the business community in Israel and the West Bank. They will emphasize the confidence of the United States in the resilience of the Israeli economy and the importance of a strong, functioning Palestinian economy to the region’s security and the success of the peace process.
On Wednesday, January 25, the Deputy Secretaries will meet with senior government officials, members of civil society, and business leaders in Tunisia to discuss efforts to strengthen Tunisia’s economy and support its democratic transition. They will focus on the new government’s commitments to advance economic reforms to foster more inclusive growth for Tunisians, and how the United States and the international community can support these initiatives.
