WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The inspector-general of the Securities and Exchange Commission, H. David Kotz, will leave the agency at the end of the month, the SEC said Tuesday. Kotz will become managing director of the investigative services firm Gryphon Strategies. Bloomberg News reported last month that Kotz accepted tickets to a football game from a financial adviser who quoted him on the adviser's web site. Kotz told the news agency that his actions were vetted by the SEC's ethics office. Kotz, who was inspector-general since 2007, had criticized the agency several times, including for the agency's failure to respond to whistleblowers over Bernie Madoff's Ponzi scheme.
