Dear Friend,
As we look to 2012, the stakes have never been higher. Pillars of economic security and justice are under attack. Unending warfare, corporate bailouts, tax cuts for the rich and environmental destruction continue - all at the expense of middle class families and our future generations.
I need your help to keep up the fight. I face a difficult election in less than 70 days and the other campaign has a financial advantage of hundreds of thousands of dollars. As we gear up for 2012, can you chip in $20.12 to help us close the gap?

Our movement's task has never been more important. I spent the last couple days with my family, celebrating the holidays and resting for a very busy and purposeful new year. I'm ready. My task will be to continue to challenge the powers of injustice and war and to speak out for economic justice on behalf of the people of my district and millions of Americans.
I will be doing this in Congress while waging a close campaign. While our movement has the people power, the record of fighting for peace and justice, and the right policy ideas, we are currently at a financial disadvantage. But if every one of us can chip in just $20.12 right now, we can quickly close the gap. 2012 is a year for a resurgence of peace and economic justice in America. Your $20.12 can help get us there.

Despite the challenges that face our movement, I remain optimistic. I'm hopeful because of all of you - Americans coming together to protect those most in need and to stand for peace and prosperity for all.
