from MarketWatch.com - MarketPulse WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The Federal Reserve on Wednesday announced it was appointing economist Michael Gibson to head the central bank's division of banking supervision starting January 1. Gibson, who began working at the Fed in 1992, received a Ph. D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As head of the unit, Gibson will be responsible for overseeing big and small banks registered with the agency.
