Notice to the Press
Office of the Spokesperson
Washington, DC

October 26, 2011

Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism Hannah Rosenthal will recognize the work Parents Circle Families Forum (PCFF) on Friday, October 28, at 9:00 a.m. in the Treaty Room of the U.S. Department of State. Robi Damelin and Seham Abu Awwad, members of The Parents Circle--Families Forum, will deliver remarks and show a short film about their efforts to fight hate.
The Parents Circle is a unique grassroots organization made up of more than six hundred families, half Israeli and half Palestinian, who have all lost immediate family members to the Palestinian - Israeli conflict. These families have embarked on a joint reconciliation mission, transforming their loss and pain of bereavement into a catalyst for reconciliation.
This on-camera ceremony will take place at 9:00 a.m. on October 28 in the Department of State’s Treaty Room. Set up time for cameras will be 8:30 a.m.
Media representatives may attend the press briefing upon presentation of one of the following: (1) A U.S. government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver’s license, passport.)
