Senate Democrats push infrastructure jobs package
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- A bill that would invest billions of dollars in U.S. infrastructure and set up a bank for new spending projects will be voted on in the Senate the week of Oct. 31, Senate Democrats said Friday. Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid said the bill would be paid for with a 0.7% surtax on incomes of $1 million or above. Democrats are bringing up the bill after the Senate blocked another key part of President Barack Obama's jobs plan from advancing on Thursday night.
