Senate to Vote on Teacher, First Responder Jobs Bill This Week

Nevada Senator Harry Reid filed cloture on the Teachers and First Responders Back to Work Act last night. The legislation would create or save 400,000 teacher jobs and protect thousands of first responder jobs.

The Senate is expected to vote on the bill, which stems from President Obama’s jobs plan, before the end of the week.

With 14 million Americans out of work, Senate Democrats are committed to making sure teachers and those who protect our communities stay on the job
