The situation in the Gaza Strip was a major topic of discussion at President Obama’s Oval Office meeting with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. Nine activists were killed recently in clashes with Israeli soldiers aboard an aid flotilla headed for Gaza. The Israeli military has imposed a blockade of the region in order to prevent smuggling.
