Center for Oceans Law and Policy Conference
In response to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and its potential spread beyond U.S. waters, panelists at the Center for Oceans Law and Policy annual conference suggested changes to international maritime law. Experts offered advice on a range of subjects including piracy, incidents off the coast of North and South Korea, and the national security challenges created by the opening of the Northwest Passage due to thinning ice caps in the Arctic.
