Reid Announces New Addition To Staff

Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced that Ayesha A. Khanna will be joining his staff as Counsel and Policy Advisor. Khanna joins Reid’s office after serving four years in the Senate Finance Committee as international trade counsel.

“Ayesha’s depth of knowledge of international trade and sharp command of Senate procedure is impressive, and I look forward to working with her,” Senator Reid said.

Prior to serving on the Finance Committee, Ayesha worked on trade issues at the U.S. Department of Commerce. She holds a law degree from George Washington University Law School and earned a B.A. in economics, history and religious studies at the University of California, Riverside.

Khanna will handle the portfolio previously held by Mike Castellano, who, after six years with Senator Reid, recently became Vice President, Governmental Relations at the Walt Disney Company.

“Mike’s strategic insight and wise counsel have been critical through many tough and complex legislative battles,” Reid said. “He has been an important part of our team, and I’m confident he will thrive in the next phase of his professional life.”
