U.S. stocks end at session highs; Dow up 322 pts to 11,177
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks rallied Tuesday, with the Dow industrials up more than 300 points as Wall Street chalked up its best performance in more than a week. "A shift in investor psychology is the primary catalyst for today's strong rally," said Clark Yingst, chief market analyst for investment bank Joseph Gunnar. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 322.11 points, or 3%, to 11,176.76. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index added 38.53 points, or 3.4%, to 1,162.35. The Nasdaq Composite Index advanced 100.68 points, or 4.3%, to 2,446.06.
