Gold ends at record, a stone's throw from $1,900
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Gold futures settled at a record Monday, inching towards $1,900 an ounce on ongoing worries about the health of the world economy and talks of possible stimuli to prop up the U.S. economy. Gold for December delivery added $39.70, or 2.1%, to settle at $1,891.90 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. It earlier traded as high as $1,899.40 an ounce, an intraday record for the metal.
