Australian shares edge higher, Brambles up
SYDNEY (MarketWatch) -- Australian shares edged higher in early trading on Wednesday, with the S&P/ASX 200 index up 0.2% at 4,255.50. The industrial sector was the strongest performer in early trading, with shares of pallet firm Brambles Ltd. up 5.4% after announcing that it will sell its Recall division and that its annual profit rose 6%. Energy firms were also tracking higher, along with Nymex-listed light sweet crude futures, with Woodside Petroleum Ltd. shares up 1%.
