Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has "signed off" on a debt ceiling agreement pending the approval of the Senate Democratic caucus, the Wall Street Journal reports.
An aide said that a vote on a package could occur later Sunday night, "although he cautioned no final decisions had been made on the timing of votes."
However, National Journal reports that "a late push" by House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) to reduce defense cuts the measure would force is a key remaining hurdle to an agreement.
And in another sign there's no deal yet, The Note reports Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's spokesman told reporters flatly: "Sen. McConnell has not signed off on anything."
