Assistant Secretary Kathy Martinez Announces New ODEP Website
Today marks the anniversary of a landmark event in our nation’s history — the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA paved the way for millions of Americans with disabilities to positively contribute to their communities in a number of ways, including employment. However, 21 years since the law’s passage, much work remains to be done.
The spirit of the ADA underpins all work we do at ODEP, from policy development to technical assistance to public awareness and outreach. And every day, our website serves as an entry point for employers, individuals, educators and service providers seeking information about what we are doing to ensure that the U.S. Department of Labor’s vision of "Good Jobs for Everyone" includes people with disabilities.
That's why it gives me great pleasure to share with you a new, improved version of our website today. I invite you to browse around the site at www.dol.gov/odep and send any feedback you have to me at kathleen.martinez.public@dol.gov. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this special day — one noteworthy for not just people with disabilities, but all people who believe in America’s promise of equal opportunity for all.
