U.S. TRANSPORTATION SECRETARY RAY LAHOOD HOLDS PRESS CONFERENCE CALL ON CONSEQUENCES OF CONGRESSIONAL INACTION ON FAA BILL
WASHINGTON – U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood will hold a press conference call with regional reporters at 3:00pm ET, TODAY, Thursday, July 21, 2011 to discuss the consequences of congressional inaction on the FAA reauthorization bill. The current FAA reauthorization expires at midnight this Friday, July 22, 2011. Unless Congress acts quickly to pass an extension, approximately 4,000 FAA employees will be immediately furloughed and airports around the country will be unable to move forward with important airport projects.
