German unemployment falls; retail sales rise
LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Germany's unemployment rate fell to 6% in April from 6.5% in March, according to data published by the Federal Statistics Office Tuesday. The number of people in employment in Germany was up by 521,000 from a year earlier. German retail sales in April were up 0.6% from March when adjusted for inflation and seasonal factors. Sales were up 3.6% from a year earlier on an adjusted basis
