General Officer Announcements


Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Marcia M. Anderson has been nominated for promotion to the rank of major general. Anderson is currently serving as deputy commanding general, U.S. Army Human Resource Command, Fort Knox, Ky.
Army Reserve Brig. Gen. William G. Beard has been nominated for promotion to the rank of major general and for assignment as deputy commanding general, mobilization and reserve affairs, U.S. Army Pacific Command, Fort Shafter, Hawaii. Beard is currently serving as deputy commanding general (troop program unit), U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.
Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Nickolas P. Tooliatos has been nominated for promotion to the rank of major general and for assignment as deputy commanding general, (individual mobilization augmentee), U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Monroe, Va. Tooliatos is currently assigned to the Control Group (Reinforcement), St. Louis, Mo.
Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Jimmie Jaye Wells has been nominated for promotion to the rank of major general and for assignment as commander, 75th Battle Command Training Division, Houston, Texas. Wells is currently serving as commander, 7th Civil Support Command, and deputy commander, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, Kaiserslautern, Germany.
Army Reserve Col. Margarett E. Barnes has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as deputy commanding general, U.S. Army Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, Ky. Barnes is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), Forces Command Augmentation Unit, Atlanta, Ga.
Army Reserve Col. Robert D. Carlson has been nominated for promotion to the rank of rank of brigadier general and for assignment as commander, 372d Engineer Brigade, Fort Snelling, Minn. Carlson is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), Contingency Response Unit, Headquarters, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C.
Army Reserve Col Scottie D. Carpenter has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as commander, 11th Military Police Brigade (Internment/Resettlement), Los Alamitos, Calif. Carpenter is currently serving as chief of staff (troop program unit), 103d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), Des Moines, Iowa.
Army Reserve Col. Allan W. Elliott has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as deputy commanding general, 108th Training Command (Initial Entry Training), Charlotte, N.C. Elliott is currently serving as assistant chief, G4 plans, operations and force projection (individual mobilization augmentee), Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G4, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort McPherson, Ga.
Army Reserve Col. Thomas P. Evans has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as deputy commanding general, mobilization and training, U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center; and commander, 102d Training Division (Maneuver Support), Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Evans is currently serving as chief of staff (troop program unit), 98th Division Training (Initial Entry Training), Rochester, N.Y.
Army Reserve Col. Janice M. Haigler has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as deputy commanding general, 311th Signal Command (Theater), Fort Shafter, Hawaii. Haigler is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 3d Brigade (Small Arms Readiness Group), 70th Division (Functional Training), 84th Training Command (Unit Readiness), Fort Gillem, Ga.
Army Reserve Col. Kurt A. Hardin has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as commander, 104th Training Division (Leader Training), Vancouver, Wash. Hardin is currently serving as chief of staff (troop program unit), 104th Training Division (Leader Training), Vancouver, Wash.
Army Reserve Col. Kenneth D. Jones has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as deputy commanding general, 377th Theater Sustainment Command, New Orleans, La. Jones is currently serving as deputy commander (troop program unit), 103d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), Des Moines, Iowa.
Army Reserve Col. Christopher R. Kemp has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as commander, 359th Signal Brigade, Fort Gordon, Ga. Kemp is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 359th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade, Fort Gordon, Ga.
Army Reserve Col. Michael A. Mann has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as commander, Deployment Support Command, Birmingham, Ala. Mann is currently serving as division chief, detailed inspector general (troop program unit), 84th Training Command, Fort Knox, Ky.
Army Reserve Col. James H. Mason has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as deputy commander, (operational command post), 807th Medical Command (Deployment Support), Seagoville, Texas. Mason is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 5th Medical Group, 3d Medical Deployment Support Command, Birmingham, Ala.
Army Reserve Col. Cynthia A. O'Connell has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as deputy commander, professional services, 3d Medical Command (Deployment Support), Fort Gillem, Ga. O'Connell is currently serving as chief of staff/deputy commander for administration, Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, Texas.
Army Reserve Col. Alan A. Stolte has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as deputy commander, U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command, Fort Bragg, N.C. Stolte is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 354th Civil Affairs Brigade, Riverdale, Md.
Army Reserve Col. George R. Thompson has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as commander, 70th Training Division (Functional Training), Fort Knox, Ky. Thompson is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 1st Battle Command Training Group, 1st Brigade, 75th Battle Command Training Division, Houston, Texas.
Army Reserve Col. Tracy A. Thompson has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as commander, 420th Engineer Brigade, Bryan, Texas. Thompson is currently serving as commander (troop program unit), 300th Sustainment Brigade, Grand Prairie, Texas.
Army Reserve Col. Kevin R. Turner has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as assistant chief of chaplains, mobilization and readiness, Office of the Chief of Chaplains, Washington, D.C. Turner is currently assigned to the control group (reinforcement), Saint Louis, Mo.
Army Reserve Col. Bryan W. Wampler has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as commander, 78th Training Brigade (Operations), Fort Dix, N.J. He is currently serving as deputy commander (troop program unit), 78th Training Brigade (Operations), Fort Dix, N.J.
