General Officer Announcements


Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Army Col. John W. Baker has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Baker is currently serving as chief, Commander's Initiatives Group, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort McPherson, Ga.
Army Col. Margaret W. Burcham has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Burcham is currently serving as division chief, Joint Capabilities Division, J-8, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.
Army Col. Richard D. Clarke Jr., has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Clarke is currently serving at Joint Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, N.C.
Army Col. Roger L. Cloutier Jr., has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Cloutier is currently serving as commander, 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3d Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.
Army Col. Timothy R. Coffin has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Coffin is currently serving as deputy commander for operations, U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/U.S. Army Forces Strategic Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
Army Col. Peggy C. Combs has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Combs is currently serving as chief, Full Dimension Protection Directorate, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, Washington, D.C.
Army Col. Bruce T. Crawford has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Crawford is currently serving as director, Coordination Group, Office of the Chief of Staff, Washington, D.C.
Army Col. Jason T. Evans has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Evans is currently serving as executive officer to the assistant secretary of the Army, (manpower and reserve affairs), Washington, D.C.
Army Col. Stephen E. Farmen has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Farmen is currently serving as commander/commandant, U.S. Army Transportation School, Fort Lee, Va.
Army Col. John G. Ferrari has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Ferrari is currently serving as deputy commander for programs, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.
Army Col. Kimberly Field has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Field is currently serving as executive officer to the commander, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command, U.S. Forces-Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.
Army Col. Duane A. Gamble has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Gamble is currently serving as assistant chief of staff, G-4, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, N.C.
Army Col. Ryan F. Gonsalves has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Gonsalves is currently serving as executive assistant to the commander, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Norfolk, Va.
Army Col. Wayne W. Grigsby Jr., has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Grigsby is currently serving as director, School of Advanced Military Studies, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kan.
Army Col. Steven R. Grove has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Grove is currently serving as deputy chief of staff, G-2, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany.
Army Col. William B. Hickman has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Hickman is currently serving as military assistant to the commander, International Security Assistance Force, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.
Army Col. John H. Hort has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Hort is currently serving as chief of plans, G-3, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort McPherson, Ga.
Army Col. Christopher P. Hughes has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Hughes is currently serving as special assistant to the commanding general, 3d Infantry Division (Mechanized), Fort Stewart, Ga.
Army Col. Daniel P. Hughes has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Hughes is currently serving as deputy program executive officer, Enterprise Information System, Fort Belvoir, Va.
Army Col. Daniel L. Karbler has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Karbler is currently serving as chief of staff, U.S. Army Fires Center of Excellence, Fort Sill, Okla.
Army Col. Ronald F. Lewis has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Lewis is currently serving as military assistant to the under secretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics, Washington, D.C.
Army Col. James B. Linder has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Linder is currently serving as chief of staff, U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, N.C.
Army Col. Michael D. Lundy has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Lundy is currently serving as deputy commander (rear), 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
Army Col. David K. MacEwen has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. MacEwen is currently serving as executive officer to the vice chief of staff of the Army, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.
Army Col. Todd B. McCaffrey has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. McCaffrey is currently serving as executive officer to the director of the Army Staff, Washington, DC.
Army Col. Paul M. Nakasone has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Nakasone is currently serving as executive assistant to the commander, U.S. Cyber Command, Fort Meade, Md.
Army Col. Paul A. Ostrowski has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Ostrowski is currently serving as executive officer to the commander, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.
Army Col. Laura J. Richardson has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Richardson is currently serving as chief, Senate Liaison Division, Office of the Secretary of the Army, Washington, D.C.
Army Col. Steven A. Shapiro has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Shapiro is currently serving as chief of staff, U.S. Army Materiel Command, Alexandria, Va.
Army Col. James E. Simpson has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Simpson is currently serving as chief of staff, U.S. Army Contracting Command, Fort Belvoir, Va.
Army Col. Mark R. Stammer has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Stammer is currently serving as commander, Operations Group, Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk, La.
Army Col. Michael C. Wehr has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Wehr is most recently served as director, cj-engineer, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.
Army Col. Eric P. Wendt has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Wendt is currently serving as military assistant to the secretary of defense, Washington, D.C.
Army Col. Robert P. White has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. White is currently serving as executive officer to the commanding general, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Monroe, Va.
