DOD Announces Recruiting and Retention Numbers for Fiscal Year-to-Date 2011, Through April
The Department of Defense announced today recruiting and retention statistics for the active and reserve components for fiscal-year-to-date 2011, through April.
Active Component.
Recruiting - Year to Date. All four active services met or exceeded their numerical accession goals for fiscal-year-to-date 2011, through April.
Army 39,096 accessions, with a goal of 38,400; 102 percent
Navy 18,482 accessions, with a goal of 18,482; 100 percent
Marine Corps 12,932 accessions, with a goal of 12,897; 100 percent
Air Force 16,153 accessions, with a goal of 16,153; 100 percent
Retention. The Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force all continue to exhibit strong retention over the first seven months of fiscal 2011.
Reserve Component.
Recruiting. Five of the six reserve components met or exceeded their numerical accession goals for fiscal-year-to-date 2011, through April.
Army National Guard 31,188 accessions, with a goal of 30,015; 104 percent
Army Reserve 17,914 accessions, with a goal of 16,081; 111 percent
Navy Reserve 4,685 accessions, with a goal of 4,685; 100 percent
Marine Corps Reserve 5,836 accessions, with a goal of 5,252; 111 percent
Air National Guard 4,006 accessions, with a goal of 4,000; 100 percent
Air Force Reserve 5,279 accessions, with a goal of 5,350; 99 percent
Attrition. All reserve components are on target to achieve their fiscal year attrition goals.
