Contribution Limits in Special Elections
Mon, 25 Apr 2011 11:06:17 -0500
A special election is considered a separate election with a separate contribution limit. (Note that a special election may itself involve separate special primary, special general and/or special runoff elections. Each would have a separate contribution limit.) When reporting contributions made in connection with a special election, be sure to check the appropriate box for type of election, and indicate that it is a special election (e.g., "2011 special general" in the case of current upcoming special House general elections in CA/36 and NY/26).
