COLORADO YOUNG DEMOCRATS RE-ORGANIZATION TUESDAY, MARCH 29,
2011 @ 6:00pm: LOCATION: 777 Santa Fe Drive. Denver Colorado

CYD Officer elections will be held. If you are interested in running for an officer position please review the
officer positions pasted below for a brief description of the role and responsibilities of each position and submit inquiries and letters of intent to Gena Ozols at gena@coloradoyoungdems.com .

As of right now, there are no unopposed races and there is a candidate who has announced for every position. No letter of intent is required to run, but it is appreciated.

The roles and responsibilities of CYD officers are as follows:

Chair

- Serve as the primary point of contact for County Initiatives and the
Colorado Democratic Party.
- Serve as a liaison between CYD and various organizations.
- Chair/lead meetings.
- Represent the Colorado Young Democrats at events and speak on behalf
of the organization
- Represent the CYD on the State Central Committee

Vice Chair

- Serve as the liaison between CYD and organizations such as HMP and DSCF to further the local strategic plan of the CYDs.
- Chair/lead meetings when the Chair in unavailable.
- Assist the Chair in meetings with other organizations
- Assist the Chair in being a Representative for CYD at Party Events
when the Chair is not able.
- Assist the Chair with their responsibilities.

Secretary

- Records the minutes for all CYD meetings as well as those with the
various initiatives.
- Responsible for internal communications between CYD officers and
leadership of initiatives.
- Arrange details for meeting (i.e. time, location, and agenda)
- Maintain contact lists within the group.
- Serve as a leading opinion on the CYD board on the goals and agenda of the CYD

Treasurer

- Record and track CYD membership dues and keep track of membership.
- Maintain and monitor CYD budget.

- Serve as a leading opinion on the CYD board on the goals and agenda
of the CYD


Communications Director

-In Charge of sending out newsletters to CYD Mailing list

-Maintains CYD Facebook Page/Twitter Account/Website with new information concerning the Colorado Young Democrats

-Serves as a leading opinion on the CYD board on the goals and agenda of the CYD
