The latest Consumer Price Index news release

was issued today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Highlights are below.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the CPI-U increased 0.4
percent in January, the same increase as in December. The
index for all items less food and energy rose 0.2 percent in
January after rising 0.1 percent in December.
