Lieberman Reflects Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) told NPR that his 2006 re-election victory was the "most gratifying" moment of his career.

Said Lieberman: "Losing the primary in 2006 was painful. Winning the general election in 2006 was probably the most gratifying, satisfying day, night of my political career. So I didn't emerge from that election angry. I emerged from that election feeling totally liberated politically as an independent."
