Foreign Service Officer Selection Process

Postby admin » Fri Jun 01, 2012 11:34 am

Hello:
We would like to inform you of an important change regarding the foreign language scoring/point system for the Foreign Service Officer Selection Process.
Beginning with the June 2012 FSOT, generalist candidates will receive .17 bonus points for all foreign languages listed (http://careers.state.gov/media/pdfs/lan ... oints-2012) providing they pass the telephone language test at a 3 speaking level after passing the Oral Assessment. Candidates testing in these eight languages - Arabic; Chinese (Mandarin); Hindi, Persian (Dari), Persian (Farsi), Pashto, Urdu, and Korean – are eligible for higher bonus points and need only a 2 speaking level to obtain a .17.
Please visit the careers website to read more about these changes (http://careers.state.gov/officer/select ... ss#forlang).
Visit our forums if you have any questions, or to search for answers regarding the Foreign Service Officer selection process. The forums can be found under Engage on the careers.state.gov website.
