Iran: Secretary of State Welcomes Iran Sanctions Legislation, Plus G8 Statement on Iran
The Iran MiPAL has been updated with a White House release featuring the Group of Eight's statement on the international commitment to addressing the challenge of Iran's nuclear program, a statement by the Secretary of State welcoming the Congressional passage of legislation to strengthen sanctions against Iran, a Senate hearing assessing the impact of United Nations sanctions on U.S. policy towards Iran, an Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses report evaluating the potential effectiveness of United Nations and U.S. sanctions against Iran, a Real Instituto Elcano report examining the implications of the nuclear fuel deal between Iran, Brazil, and Turkey in the context of Iran's nuclear program, and a Foreign Press Center briefing by a State Department official providing an overview on the United Nations Security Council's decision to adopt a strong resolution imposing new sanctions against Iran.
