Hoyer Statement on House Passage of the America COMPETES Reauthorization Act

WASHINGTON, DC – House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today after the House passed the America COMPETES Reauthorization Act:

“Today, the House passed the America COMPETES Reauthorization Act, voting to help the middle class, continue creating jobs, and build a strong foundation for long-term economic prosperity. By investing in science, technology, engineering, and math education, we help ensure that our workforce will meet the challenges of the 21st century economy.

“I want to thank the Science and Technology Committee for their efforts and Chairman Bart Gordon for his leadership in bringing this important bill to the Floor.
