Hoyer Statement on President Obama's Nomination of Dan Tangherlini as Administrator of the General Services Administration
WASHINGTON, DC – House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today after President Barack Obama announced his intent to nominate Dan Tangherlini as Administrator of the General Services Administration:
“I join in congratulating Dan Tangherlini on his nomination to serve as our next Administrator of the General Services Administration. With constrained budgets and an administration-wide focus on achieving savings through consolidation and greater energy efficiency, the challenges facing the GSA require the kind of skill and experience Dan has already demonstrated through his service as Acting Administrator and in his work at the Treasury Department, the District of Columbia city administration, and WMATA. Dan and I have worked closely together in the past, and I look forward to continuing to do so on a number of important issues, including the proposal for a new, consolidated FBI headquarters. I urge the Senate to confirm him swiftly in his new role.”
