Meredith, an auditor in Virginia, donates because she can see the ways in which President Obama has helped her community.

“Donating to President Obama’s campaign was quite convenient—it was a simple click here and there. It really was no big deal, and I figured, ‘I like the guy. I can donate six or seven bucks.’ I’d love to be able to write a check for $1,000, but it’s just not that simple. I have to ask myself, ‘How is my grocery bill this week? Can I donate $6 or do I have to spend it on food?’ It’s a gamble. You have to believe that President Obama is going to win again. If you do chip in $6 or whatever you can, he’s $6 more likely to win.
