WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble pledged Monday to cooperate closely in advancing policies to stabilize global and European economies. In a joint statement after their meeting on the island of Sylt, the two leaders expressed confidence in the euro-area member states' reform efforts. The two leaders also took note of statements from the European Central Bank President Mario Draghi to do whatever it takes to preserve the euro.
