General Officer Assignments

The chief of staff, Air Force announced today the following assignments:
Maj. Gen. Stephen D. Schmidt, commander, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Airborne Early Warning and Control Force Command, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Casteau, Belgium, to special assistant to the commander, U.S. Air Forces Europe/commander, Air Component Command, Ramstein/director, Joint Air Power Competency Center, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
Brig. Gen. Richard M. Clark, who has been selected for the rank of major general, commandant of cadets, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., to senior defense official/defense attaché, Defense Intelligence Agency, Cairo, Egypt.
